The Magners Pub Comedy Awards 2008

So you think your pub is funny? Prove it with the Magners Pub Comedy Awards 2008!

The Publican has teamed up with Magners Irish Cider in a national hunt for the best pub comedy in the UK.

The competition has two overall prizes; the UK’s best pub comedian and the UK’s best comedy pub - so there’s double the chance of winning.

Whether you hold one-off comedy nights or have a regular night, here’s your chance to become the Magners Comedy Pub of 2008 – or to help launch the next rising star of the comic world.

For a chance to win, simply register here and then host your very own pub comedy night.

A free Welcome Pack offering tips and tricks for making your night a success will be mailed to every pub once they register, along with instructions on how to submit your entry, promotion posters and POS kits.

When you have held your comedy night and selected the comedian to represent your pub in the competition, come back to the site and either enter online or download the entry form, then submit your entry before 30th June 2008.

The best comedy pub will be judged on the energy and effort that goes into their comedy night and the comedian, on their ability to hold an audience and make them laugh.

The judging panel includes Kathleen Hutchison from Paramount Comedy and representatives from The Publican and Magners Irish Cider.

Entries will be shortlisted and successful candidates will be asked to take part in regional heats around the country. Winning finalists from these regional heats will be invited to a national final in London.
